TASUMA Standard Poodles started in 1990 with the birth of Martin and Sue Megdal’s beloved foundation bitch Donnchada Sue’s Tasha.
Tasha became a Top Producer with three champions in her first and only litter. When she accumulated 6 confirmation points, Marty could no longer part with her, thus ending her show career.
The TASUMA line is only bred to the best producing champion lines to produce gorgeous health show, companion and working poodles.
Our breeding line was established by Dr. Martin “Marty” Megdal (deceased) and his wonderful wife Sue Megdal. He re-invented the phrase “Breed To Improve The Breed”, as he took great measure to ensure all of the TASUMA breeding’s focused on breeding out genetic defects by only breeding health tested and superior animals. We have carried on this foundational breeding to ensure future TASUMA Standard Poodles are high caliber.
Following Marty’s death, the breeding line has been passed down to Brandy George (Marty and Sue’s daughter) and Brandy has enlisted Marnie Applegate (Brandy’s life-long best friend and surrogate daughter to Marty and Sue Megdal). Marnie has owned and showed TASUMA Standard Poodles since 1998. Marnie bred her gorgeous “Le-La” – TASUMA Midnight Jewel in May 2019 to continue the line.

We are committed to breeding outstanding Standard Poodles that are unsurpassed for their intelligence, temperament and confirmation. We perform genetic testing on all of our dogs, and require their mates to be tested as well. This helps us to ensure the health of each litter and continuing to improve the breed.
We breed black, white, blue and brown standard poodles. We sell show and companion puppies to loving homes. We will not allow, nor do we support our line to be utilized in cross breeding.
